Environmental Impact Statement ("EIS")

The EIS report compiles all the information gathered during the Environmental Impact Assessment ("EIA") process. We submitted our EIS to the PNG government in September 2008, along with all the detailed EIA studies. Approval of the EIS is part of the process for approval of mining projects in PNG. The final Environmental Permit for the development of the Solwara 1 Project was received on December 29, 2009 from the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) of Papua New Guinea for a term of 25 years, expiring in 2035.
